Behind the Studio

The Problem

Currently, there are no community spaces or creative resources available to support our resident's entrepreneurial and artistic potential.

The Vision of Flaunt It Studio

Design a co-working studio providing creative expression and economic empowerment in the Jane-Finch community by offering an accessible, affordable, fully-equipped, space targeting young, racialized, low-income emerging artists and entrepreneurs.

Studio Objectives

New Strategic & Engagement Model

Develop and test an alternative yet innovative business model to reduce creative and entrepreneurial barriers for low-income residents in the Jane-Finch community.

Resourceful Resident-Run Studio

Operate a resident-run coworking space fully equipped with all the necessary resources to improve the economic livelihoods and capacity of low-income residents.

Address Community Needs

Responding to urgent community needs amid closures from gentrification and the pandemic, our initiative establishes an inclusive and safe creative space for Jane-Finch youth and meets diverse needs in our community.

High-Quality Programming Space

Provide innovative programming, accessible for artists, entrepreneurs, and community residents to embrace dynamic leadership in a vibrant environment that fosters collaboration.

Integrate and Innovate

Engage with residents, charities, corporations, and stakeholders to collaboratively build knowledge. This iterative process informs our actions, refines our model, and prepares us for a seamless transition into our Hub.
